Surrey and England allrounder Jamie Overton has suffered a stress fracture and looks set to miss the Ashes.
Surrey announced yesterday (January 18) that Overton has sustained a stress fracture of the lumbar spine.
Overton made his test debut last summer, and in keeping with the style of play under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum, he struck 97 in his only test innings to date against New Zealand.

He was playing for the Gulf Giants in the UAE when he was injured, before returning to the UK where scans revealed the extent of the injury.
Surrey will thoroughly miss the tall allrounder, who has 221 first-class wickets, 2,112 first-class runs and was central to their title-winning season with both bat and ball.
The Telegraph is reporting that Surrey have lined-up Australian Sean Abbott to bolster their bowling attack, which already has West Indies international Kemar Roach, after the county announced his return last week.
