This International Women’s Day, NewLife Charity are hosting a major ladies lunch and fashion show which will see a selection of entertainment, raffles, and auctions.

The event will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Cobham on March 8, with all charitable donations going to NewLife Charity.

Pamela, one of the fundraisers at NewLife Charity, told the Surrey Comet that the event will include a lovely lunch menu, entertainment by the rock choir and table gifts from retailers and beauty businesses.

Pamela says “100 per cent” of the money raised will go directly to the NewLife charity, which is a dedicated charity to disabled children who need special equipment.

Pamela said: “We’ve been hosting this event for ten years now, of course with the two year covid gap.

“This year, the event has sold out and it’s great to see people getting back into the swing of having fun and mixing with people”.

Pamela says that the professional partners of the event is Marks & Spencer, and half of the outfits used for the fashion show will be from the high street shop.

Pamela added: “The other half of clothes will be from the NewLife charity shop that’s located in the midlands.

“Our youngest model is 16-years-old, and our oldest model is well into her 70s.

“Our models are our friends and represent all types and sizes.

“We have a whole range of outfits for the show, perfect for everyone that may give some the impetus to try something new.”

Pamela says there are plans for 120 guests to attend and is now having to turn people away as she claims the tickets have sold out.

She said the ladies who have attended the event in the past have been “incredibly kind and generous” with donations.

Pam said: “People who have been before and know the charity, love the ethos.

“The event is all about treats and raising money, so it’s going to be really fun.”

“Although we most likely won’t raise as much as we have in recent years, I’m still hoping for it to be in the thousands.

“The lunch and fashion show event will not take a penny from donations, not even to cover rent rates or telephone bills – all the money raised will go directly to the equipment needed for children."
