Look inside Surrey's most unusual places to stay

If you fancy staying somewhere a bit different, and definitely unusual, Host Unusual is where to find your spot.

It's filled with some of the world's most weird and wonderful places - including anything from an overnight boathouse to sleeping alfresco under the stars.

And, Surrey is lucky enough to be home to two of its unusual posts - known as Kymani Godstone Valley and The Merry Harriers Shepherd's Hut.

Kymani Godstone Valley was founded by two experts in events management who wanted to create luxurious, large group glamping breaks.

It features up to 10 furnished bell tents which each sleep four guests and is open from June to October 2021.

There is a nine-acre field to explore with 'proper' toilets and a programme of on-site activities from sunrise yoga to quad biking.

There's breakfast and dinner on offer everyday and a pre-stocked bar with a selection of favourites.

The tents come equipped with a sofa and a wood-burner, and even a hanging candelabra.

There's a double bed plus two single beds.

It's located just over half an hour from the Surrey Hills.

Arrival is from 3pm and departure must be by 10am.

Prices start at £197.50 per night for one tent for two people - with the minimum booking as two tents for two nights.

The Merry Harriers Shepherd's Hut is also a Surrey unusual favourite.

Located in Hambledon, these huts are set by a pond that overlooks the Surrey Hills.

There are five shepherd's huts packed with hotel suite-style luxury and a log burner for colder evenings.

It comes with a rainfall shower, Nespresso machine, a bottle of wine, hair dryer and hot water bottles.

Outside is a firepit for marshmallow toasting and sun loungers for when the weather allows.

The huts are dog friendly and breakfast is included for the price of £150 per night.

Each hut sleeps two people.
