An organiser of the reggae pool party at Headley near Epsom where a man was shot dead has described the "frightening chaos" of the aftermath.

Summerlyn Farquharson, who goes by the name The Female Boss Krissy, denied the event was a "sex party" and said she did not know the victim.

Detectives are continuing to question two people arrested after the 34-year-old man was shot dead and a 36-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her leg at a mansion with a swimming pool.

Surrey Police said one person had been arrested on suspicion of murder and a second on suspicion of assisting an offender, but the gun used in the shooting had not yet been recovered.

Ms Farquharson was listed as one of the organisers, along with reggae dance hall artist Braintear Spookie.

The 21-year-old, whose real name is Jason White, and originally from Kingston, Jamaica, posted adverts for the party on his Instagram account.

Ms Farquharson said that she had rented the house, in a small road between the church and a pub in the quiet village, for the past four years and had held similar parties twice before without any trouble.

She said: "Before the shooting everything was nice and then it was chaos. We have never had problems before and we have done the party on a yearly basis.

"At about two o'clock the crowd was getting unruly, I am not sure if it was the alcohol but by the time I got to the security I heard a gunshot, I saw people running, people were trying to get into the house.

"People weren't allowed in the house as it was a pool party but they were banging on the door.

"I opened the door to let Spookie in, people were shouting to call the police, saying someone was shot, so I called the police and locked us in.

"We don't know who was shot, we don't know why it happened, we have no clue, we don't know who it is."

Ms Farquharson said the organisers had received abusive messages following the attack.

"It was frightening and damaging to Spookie's career, getting all this bad publicity," she said.

"It was an innocent party, it was not a sex party, Spookie was going to showcase some of his material but because of the chaos that didn't happen, we never planned for this to happen.

"We are also getting lots of hurtful messages, for him to be sent back to Africa, we aren't from Africa, we are British like anyone else, we have the right to be here."

Neighbours described hundreds of people gathering for the party, which had been advertised on social media, and complained of loud music going on into the early hours of Monday when the shooting happened.

Broken glass and rubbish were left strewn around the property the following morning.

Detective Superintendent Bex Smith said the weapon was thought to have been a handgun, which has yet to be found.

She said: "This was a shocking turn of events at what had been billed as a private pool party and would have been witnessed by a number of people."

Ms Smith asked for anyone who attended the event or had phone footage of what happened to come forward.

She also asked for information about a white and black Mini car which left the scene.
